In 1947, a local female pilot named Marianne Profit, wanted a place close to the airport her and her fellow pilots could enjoy a drink. They built the Aero Club, and the rest was history. Aero Club reflects Marianne’s love of flying. Much of the original decor is still alive in this iconic bar.
Later a man named Bill Lutzius purchased the bar and began an unrivaled whiskey program with the help of an amazing team. This brought the “Whiskey Bar” to San Diego. Aero Club now offers over 1000 whiskey options. Step foot in here on any given night and you will experience an electric vibe provided by its historic atmosphere, amazing product, and knowledgeable and attentive team. Aero Club is a true whiskey bar that cannot be duplicated. It’s an iconic piece of San Diego’s bar scene.
Aero is now owned by a group of friends who understand the importance of a drink with good company.
