A rickhouse is defined as the storage space for whiskey barrels during the aging process. Heat rises, therefore, temperatures are warmer and drier in the upper levels of the space and the barrel ages faster and produces a higher proof spirit. Closer to the ground floor, it tends to be cooler and more moist- the barrels age slower and at a lower proof.

Its design is inspired and built from old whiskey barrels, staves and original charred brick from pre-1906 earthquake.
