Five Points, New York was not only the nation’s largest melting pot, but also one of the most notorious neighborhoods of the 19th century. Defined by vice, poverty & political corruption, Five Points captured Americans’ imaginations for over 70 years.
At Five Points, we honor those traditions & cultures of saloons & speakeasies that once graced the most infamous neighborhood of America. While we don’t condone anything illicit at our bar, we do pay homage to the melting pot culture by bringing a little bit of old school New York to downtown San Jose. Just like the original Five Points of New York, San Jose represents a true melting pot culture: a place where people can meet and mingle and new traditions mix with old.
